about

This was the very first track I worked on upon completion of the 'Hoi Pouli' album. It was started before a holiday in Swanage, Dorset and completed after that holiday.
The song is about a lonely King. I believe that most Kings are lonely even though they might be surrounded by people. That is only my belief I do not know because I am not a King !
Helen Kilby-Nelson made a wonderful digital video for the song which you can find on Youtube. It is like those early heated oil projections that you used to see at 'heavy' gigs in the late 1960's ! In some ways this song is about those Kings of rock who toured the world endlessly...

lyrics

The Verse goes;

Planting your flag on a lump of rock in space
And the Man in the Moon just waves
Waves at the end of the Verse
The known Universe

The Chorus goes;

And the chorus will never, ever bore us
While you're the King
The King of the Universe !
